I am way way too lazy for this blogging thing... I was dragging my feet just now, thinking "Awwwwww..... I have to sign in before I can type anything?" (can you hear my whiny voice?) "I just don't think I can muster up enough energy".... Anyhow, I had to sign in so I could comment on someone else's blog, so I figured it would be a good time to type on my own.
No one reads this anyhow...
It's 12:44am on December 24 and I'm finally done preparing for Christmas. Having a house has apparently awakened the Christmas spirit for the Pelissier fam. (That was what Reader's Digest used to call us). We have our first Christmas tree. We actually baked mounds and mounds of junk food (coffee cake, fudge and mints). The presents are wrapped and some are even under the tree. OK, the house is a disaster (regular style plus moving boxes are still all over the place) and two of my three children have insisted on sleeping in the living room instead of in their beds.... so there is still room for improvement. But we're getting there! At least child #2 is sleeping on his mattress instead of in his doorway, as is his habit.

T-Ball
Legoland
Here are a few pictures from Legoland last month.
My boys with the "red toa"
All the kids with the "blue toa"
They love R2D2. I'm not spelling that right. Where is Mateo when I need him?
They have a new "land" - the "land" of adventure. Here are the four boys with King Tut. Or Ramses. They didn't specify.
And a closer view...
The guys all had grilled cheese for lunch, so we let them sit at their own table.

A funny from Atticus
My mom played a memory card game with Atticus the other day. He told us "I had to read my own mind to play that game!"

Rubber Chicken Day
Here are some photos from today - Rubber Chicken Day. Our very own holiday. The rules are in the words of the song (sung to the tune of "You are my Sunshine"):
You are my chicken, my rubber chicken
You bring us presents in July
We have some milkshakes and some cheeseburgers
Happy Rubber Chicken Day!
PS: Doesn't Mateo look like such a "guy" in the last picture? Where did my baby boy go?!?
perspitctive
Karis is a drooler. She could rival that large ugly dog from that one movie... the one where the dog drools. You know the one. Her bib is always drenched to the point where it would be effective in the fight against forest fires.
So after church today I was holding her and feeling icky because the sodden bib was smushed up against my shirt. I turned her around facing out instead. Mateo came up and gave her a cuddle, rubbing his face against her yucky bib. "Ahhhh!", he said, "That feels good!" (It was a hot day). "How does that spit feel on your cheek?" I asked, guessing that maybe he didn't realize why the bib was so cool. "So nice Mommy!", he said, without even blinking .... I guess it's all in your perspitctive....

She's Rolling!
She's rolling over already! Not quite getting that superfluous arm out from underneath her enough to get up once she's over.... but I think it still counts. She rolls from back to front, turning right. My mom swears she's almost crawling, but then my mom thinks she's speaking English as well.... ("Did you hear her? She said 'Mama'!")

sippy cup
Karis drank water from a sippy cup tonight. I don't know why I even tried.... it was a long day and I wasn't thinking. It was Mateo's bedtime sippy. I was trying (in vain, mostly) to get the boys to go to bed. She was gnawing on my shoulder, looking for a nipple. Since the sippy was in my hand I stuck it in her mouth. She loved it. Didn't even dribble much. Didn't choke. I didn't think a 3-month-old would do well with a sippy, but maybe she is weird. Or maybe my milk shoots out really fast like a sippy cup and she's just used to it.

Phone safety
California has decided that it's illegal to drive while talking on a hand-held cell phone. Because of the danger. So yesterday I had to hold the phone in one hand while I held the earpiece up to my ear with the other hand. I steered the car with my little finger. Big improvement in safety, I tell you.

3 month old stats
Karis had a checkup at the pediatrician yesterday. She is 13 lbs. 4 oz. She is 24 inches tall (well, that would be long, I guess, as she doesn't do a lot of standing yet). She had 4 shots, but only cried for the last two. She didn't cry at the hospital when they took her blood either. Although she did scream bloody murder when anyone changed her diaper. Silly girl. She wears a size 3 diaper already and at the moment is wearing 6-12 month pants that are too small (although her 3-6 month size onesie fits fine). I will probably forget to put these stats in the baby book (that will be a project for when I retire) so I'm hoping they'll be safe here in my blog.

cock-a-doodle-doo
I'm crowing. And it may well have been an accident. My almost-3-month-old peed on the potty this evening. I told her to do it and she immediately screwed up her little face, grunted and peed. Good job Karis!

Tell your posse to get a car
You know that really annoying commercial with the catchy tune? For Free Credit Report "Dot Com"? I can't stand his whining about how, while riding with him in his "used subcompact" car his "posse" is getting laughed at.... Why can't someone else in his posse get a car? Did they all fail to call for a free credit report and wind up with stolen identities? Apparently they can't get cars themselves. Shouldn't these losers be grateful to have a friend who has a car, even if it is a "used subcompact"? Maybe they should take a look at their lives and decide whether it's worth it to whine about the vinyl sticking to the backs of their legs and the derisive laughter of the women they'd like to date. Sounds to me as though they have bigger problems...
